Product Description
Clonate Ointment is a potent corticosteroid formulation containing Clobetasol Propionate used to treat various inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It helps reduce redness, itching, and swelling by suppressing inflammatory responses in the skin. This ointment is formulated in a water-washable base for smooth application and enhanced absorption. It also contains stabilizers like Butylated Hydroxyanisole, Methylparaben, and Propylparaben for product preservation and stability.

Composition
- Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% w/w
Uses
- Treats severe inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis
- Relieves itching, redness, and swelling associated with dermatitis
- Manages plaque psoriasis and chronic eczema unresponsive to milder steroids
- Treats allergic contact dermatitis and irritant contact dermatitis
- Reduces inflammation in discoid lupus erythematosus
- Controls symptoms of lichen planus and lichen simplex chronicus
How to Use?
- Clean and dry the affected area
- Apply a thin layer of Clonate Ointment
- Use once or twice daily as prescribed
Dosage
Apply a thin layer to the affected area twice daily for up to 2 weeks; do not exceed 50g per week; avoid prolonged continuous use
Safety Advice
- Use for the shortest duration necessary and do not exceed 2 consecutive weeks
- Do not bandage or wrap the treated area tightly unless advised by a doctor
- Wash hands thoroughly after application
- Monitor for signs of skin thinning or secondary infection during use
Precautions
- Contraindicated in rosacea, acne vulgaris, and perioral dermatitis
- Do not use on the face, groin, or axillae
- Avoid use in patients with primary skin infections (bacterial, fungal, or viral)
- Not recommended for use in children under 12 years
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Do not apply under occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician
- Prolonged use may cause systemic corticosteroid effects including adrenal suppression
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes
Side Effects
- Skin atrophy with prolonged use
- Striae and telangiectasia at application site
- Local burning or stinging sensation
- Perioral dermatitis
- Acneiform eruptions
- Hypopigmentation at application site
- Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression with extensive use
- Increased risk of secondary skin infections
- Contact dermatitis to preservatives
