CO Mupimet Sterile Medicated Collagen Particles

Dosage

Clean and debride the wound thoroughly. Apply CO Mupimet sterile collagen particles directly onto the wound surface to cover it completely. Cover with a sterile secondary dressing. Change dressing every 2-3 days or as directed by the physician, depending on wound exudate and condition.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mupirocin, metronidazole, or fish-derived collagen
• Avoid use in patients with known allergy to fish or fish products
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment due to metronidazole component
• Not for ophthalmic, otic, or internal use
• Avoid concurrent use with other topical antimicrobials on the same wound
• Use with caution in large wound areas to minimize systemic absorption of metronidazole
• Prolonged use may lead to overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms

Side Effects

• Local burning or stinging sensation at application site
• Transient erythema around wound margins
• Skin sensitization or contact dermatitis
• Itching or pruritus at wound site
• Rarely, systemic absorption of metronidazole with large wound areas
